According to the IRNA cultural group, holding an international virtual conference on the Jean Monnet project entitled "The role of public libraries in the social, economic and cultural development of Iran with emphasis on the experiences of European countries" is part of the commitments of the Jean Monnet international joint project with the European Commission. The title is "Application of EU Experiences in the Field of Public Libraries in Iran".

(Jean Monnet (November 9, 1888 - March 16, 1979) was a French political economist and diplomat.)

The project has been underway since 2009 under the management of  Glensa Golini Moghaddam from Allameh Tabatabai University in collaboration with Farideh Asareh from Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz and Rahmatollah Fattahi  from Ferdowsi University of Mashhad. This international virtual conference is scheduled to be held on Wednesday, May 19, 1400, equal to May 19, 2021, from 8:30 AM to 5:40 PM in the virtual forum of Allameh Tabatabai University in the Skyroom.

The names of the keynote speakers who will present their papers and lectures at the opening of the conference are as follows: Ahmad Borjali , Dean of the Conference and Head of the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences, Allameh Tabatabai University, Tehran, entitled The Impact of Transferring Experiences between Iran and Europe in Jean Monet Program Framework , Mandana Tishehyar , Director of International Scientific Cooperation, Allameh Tabatabai University, Tehran, entitled " Policies of Allameh Tabatabai University in International Scientific Cooperation between Iran and Europe" , Glensa Gliny Moghaddam , Jean Monet Project Manager and Scientific Secretary And a member of the faculty of the Department of Information Science and Knowledge of Allameh Tabatabai University, Tehran, entitled Scientific Report of Jean Monnet Project .

The first panel of the conference entitled " Structure, organization, and strategies of public libraries in Iran and Europe" includes a speech by Alireza Mokhtarpour, Director General of Public Libraries (entitled " Iranian Public Libraries and the experience of participation in social management" ); Mohammad Hassanzadeh, President of the Association for the Promotion of Public Libraries and a member of the faculty of the Department of Information Science and Knowledge of Tarbiat Modares University (with the title of effective governance space of public libraries with emphasis on the main elements of transformational interaction ); Anthony Torrance Vice-Chairman of the Committee on Documents and International Libraries of France (entitled New Cultural Habits and New Challenges in French Public Libraries ) and Mehdi ShaghaghiThe faculty member of the Department of Information Science and Knowledge of Shahid Beheshti University will be held in collaboration with Samaneh Haddadgar, a master's degree student in Information Science and Knowledge (with the title of promoting the position of public libraries in Iran based on Bourdieu's views ).

The second panel of the conference entitled Public, specialized and personalized services in public libraries of Iran and Europe, including a speech by Ahmad Shabani, a faculty member of the Department of Information Science and Knowledge, University of Isfahan (entitled Public Libraries and Civil Society in Iran ); Rahmatollah Fattahi Faculty Member, Department of Information Science, Ferdowsi University of Mashhad (entitled Theoretical Frameworks and Practical Solutions of Specialized and Personalized Services ); Mahmoud Khosrow Jerdi, Senior Librarian, University of Applied Sciences, Ireland, Norway (entitled Public Library Services in Norway: Cultural Analysis ) and Ramin Naderi, Director of the Venice Library, Los Angeles Public Library with Taktam GholamiChildren's Librarian, Westwood Library, Los Angeles Public Library. The United States (entitled   Development and Community Support at the Los Angeles Public Library: A Selection of Experiences ).

The third panel of the conference, entitled Public Libraries and Civil Society in Iran and Europe, includes a lecture by Ruhollah Manouchehri, Director General of the Fars Public Libraries Foundation (entitled Review of an Experience: Facilitating the Access of Fars Province Nomads to Books in the Book Ambassador Plan ); Jimmy Johnston, a faculty member at the University of Oslo, Norway (entitled Friendship and Conversation Programs in Norwegian Public Libraries ); Dr. Mansour Koohi Rostami will be a member of the faculty of the Department of Information Science and Knowledge of Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz (entitled Social Innovation in Public Libraries: Development of Civil Society ).

The fourth panel of the conference, entitled Reviewing, Analyzing and Designing the Development of Future Services in Public Libraries in Iran and Europe, includes a speech by Siamak Mahboob, Director General of the Planning Office of the Public Libraries of the country (entitled Futuristic Figures of Public Library ); Pete Pichaban Senior Researcher, Digital Information Research Laboratory, Chennai, India (entitled Technology-Inspired Virtual Public Libraries ) ; Reza Maleki Faculty Member, Department of Information Science, Allameh Tabatabai University, Tehran. PhD in Information Science and Governance (entitled Governance of Public Libraries in Iran ), Sakineh Ghasempour PhD in Information Science and Science from Al-Zahra University, Tehran (Iran)The Role of Public Libraries in Resolving Conflicts and Social Conflicts ) and Dr. Susmita Chakraborti, Faculty Member, Department of Information Science, Calcutta University. India (entitled Using Technology for the People: The Role of Public Libraries in India ).

Closing Ceremony of the International Virtual Conference of Jean Monnet Project entitled The Role of Public Libraries in the Social, Economic, and Cultural Development of Iran with Emphasis on the Experiences of European Countries, by Farideh Asareh, Project Fellow and Faculty Member, Department of Information Science, Shahid Chamran University Ahwaz will be read. This statement will summarize the articles presented at the conference and the articles and experiences related to the topics submitted in the conference.
